Beers with our First Orbiteer
On a chilly November day in 2003, the Orbit8 crew was busy beavering away tweaking our first prototype. When along came a customer at one of our first hotspots -- a cyber cafe in Richmond.
With a new wifi laptop in hand, Steve wanted to try out this new wireless technology. He was having problems getting online (due the cyber cafe's broken Internet) - so Colin jumped on his motorbike and dashed to Richmond to lend a hand. All if efforts to chase down that first five pound transaction.
What started out as a support call turned into a few pints at a riverside pub. Steve quickly became not only our first customer, but also a good mate.
Last night we hooked up with Steve and his partner Jo for beers in the pub garden. He too has the entrepreneur bug, and has recently launched his own online business called ChainTracker.com.
We wish him all the best during his startup year. It’s those first customers that mean the world to a new business. We hope he's as lucky with his firsts as we were with ours. Good luck Steve!!
